Okehampton Quaker Meeting

Welcome to Okehampton Quaker Meeting.

On the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month we meet in the town centre and everyone is welcome to join us. We start our Meeting for Worship at 10.30.Worship is followed at 11.30 by notices and refreshments and chat. Our meetings are shown in the events below and include regular children's and young peoples' meetings with activities.

Quakers meet for one hour in silent Worship with some sharing of words (Ministry) during this time. We have an open door and someone will warmly welcome you. Come along and meet us and spend some quality, quiet stillness with God.

We rent the venue and welcome you to worship. Refreshments follow with a chance to chat with other Friends. We also have a library with a wide range of books about Quakers for you to borrow.

North Street is off Fore Street, the main street in town. It is one way so you will need to drive down Northfield Road and turn left at the end. There is very limited parking at the Ockment Centre which is for disabled access only. The Ockment Centre can also be accessed by walking over the river bridge from the supermarket car parks where charges apply. Please contact us for details if unsure.

Children and Young People's Meeting

10:30-11:30

Venue: Ockment Centre, North Street, Okehampton EX20 1AR

We provide activities for children and young people on each second Sunday of the month (except August). If you would like to make contact in advance please do so but you are very welcome  just to  turn up! 

On the second Sunday each month (not August) we regularly welcome children and young people of all ages. We begin in the main meeting for worship for about 15-20 minutes and then relocate to another space with two adults for our own activities. 

We make sure there is something for all age groups. On Sundays when there is no children's meeting, children and young people are welcome to attend our meeting for worship. We also have use of the Ockment Centre garden.
